In Alabama attending football games is a tradition. The Chicago-based Luck family purchased a game day home within walking distance to campus and asked us to help them with the Auburn Alabama Interior Design. They wanted a home that was perfect for gathering on game days and was created as an inviting home for their future retirement.
Updating A Greek Revival Home
The Luck family’s home is a 1940s Greek Revival and sits on a beautiful lot. But to make the home perfect for their family it needed to undergo a significant remodel. The renovation included adding a large great room, master bath, and carriage house so that the home would be perfect for entertaining.
We worked with the family to accentuate the existing home and unite it in perfect harmony with the new additions. This included working with them on the architectural details throughout the existing home and the addition so that they accentuated the other. The goal was to create a home that the family would enjoy for years to come and one that was true to its original design.
Creating Custom Furniture
With the additions that we helped the family plan, they needed custom furniture pieces to create a more usable space. One such piece was a custom banquette in the kitchen area. This banquette not only added additional seating that was otherwise missing but the neutral color with pops of the team colors draws your eye to the area creating a beautiful focal point.
Choosing The Perfect Colors
When designing a game day home, the use of color is important. The family wanted the home to reflect their allegiance to Auburn University but in an understated and elegant way. This Auburn Alabama Interior Design required the use of neutrals throughout the home accented with blue and orange accents, we were able to achieve their vision. In addition, using a variety of shades of the accent colors gave the design depth and a feeling of warmth.
