Alex, what drew you into the field of interior design?
My mother’s and grandmother’s, homes were so beautiful, and they let me help them decorate even as a child. I loved seeing the way a room could completely transform even with the smallest change.
What would you say are key components to quality design?
Functionality and Light. Both can make all the difference to the quality of a space.
Where do you get your inspiration/ideas?
I get a lot of inspiration from following other very talented designers and architects on Instagram and Pinterest. Sometimes seeing their ideas will spark a new idea for a design for me.
How do you believe design reflects a person's style and personality?
Color plays a huge role in reflecting a client's personality into his or her space, I believe the colors people choose can be a clue into who they are. A bubbly personality will often choose bright vibrant colors, whereas a laid back personality tends to lean toward soft neutrals.
What is your approach to color?
I like to use a neutral base and bring in pops of color with accessories and details that can be changed out over time to easily refresh a space when needed.
What’s your favorite paint color?
Light Grey by Farrow & Ball. It’s a stunning neutral.
What can’t you live without?
Dr. Pepper. Need I say more?
